Meet The MS Center Team

The MS Center employs a skilled and renowned team of medical and support MS specialists committed to delivering optimum care to our patients .  Dedicated to you and your wellbeing, the Center cares for the whole person, not just the disease.

Our Physicians

Barbara J. Green, M.D., the founder and medical director of the MS Center is part of Mercy Clinic Neurology. Her practice is at the MS Center. She completed her neurology residency at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago and began her private practice as a general neurologist at Mercy Hospital St. Louis. As her MS practice grew, she saw tremendous need for a holistic interdisciplinary care, and founded the MS Center in 2000. Dr. Green is recognized nationally and sought as a speaker for the leadership she brings to the treatment of MS. She has served in volunteer leadership roles with the National MS Society and its local St. Louis chapter.

Amy Rauchway, D.O. joined Mercy Clinic Neurology, the multi-specialty physician group affiliated with Mercy Hospital in July of 2011. She continues her dedication to treating MS patients at the MS Center where her office is located. She previously served as an assistant professor of neurology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine where she completed her residency.  Dr. Rauchway also serves on the Programs Planning Committee for the Gateway Area Chapter of the National MS Society.

Our Clinical Team
Kate Upshur, LCSW Mary Kay Fink, APN, MSCN
is our Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She works with patients to help them maintain the best quality of life and independence when faced with changes in their circumstances while living with MS. Kate helps to access social, educational, financial and wellness services for patients of the Center. serves as the clinical supervisor to the Center’s nurses and also plays a key role in patient care. Her 30-plus years of experience in neuro-nursing and patient education has translated into quality patient care and adept medical management. Mary Kay is a nationally recognized MS Certified Nurse serving on national committees and organizations focused on cutting edge patient services
Melanie Huff, RN, BSN Mary Lambert, RN, BSN, MSCN
is a member of the RN team at the Center where her responsibilities include patient education, infusion therapy and responding to calls made to the MS Center Nurses Line. Beginning her career as an Army combat medic, Melanie brings 15 years of medical field experience to the Center. She has served as a nurse for 5 years. is a member of the RN team at the Center. She provides patient education and infusion therapy, and monitors safety protocols. A specialized Neuroscience nurse clinician, with over 30 years of experience, Mary is dedicated to the wellbeing of MS Center patients.
Lisa Nesler, RN, BSN, MSCN Jessica Schulte, RN, CCRC
is a member of the RN team at the Center where her responsibilities include patient education, infusion therapy and disability advocacy. With a strong background in Neuroscience nursing, Lisa brings over 20 years of experience to the specialized field of MS Nursing. Lisa is dedicated to the world of MS and the care of patients at the Center. Clinical Research Coordinator, has coordinated patient care and study visit activities with Dr. Barbara Green since 2006. Additionally, Jessica manages the legal, financial and review processes affiliated with launching and maintaining clinical trials.
Our Administrative Team
Earlene Anderson Shannon Blackwell
Accountant, processes billings and payments from patients and insurance companies. As the Center’s accountant, she prepares accounting records, helps patients understand the nature of their balances, interprets insurance explanations of benefits and monitors the Center’s budget. Development Coordinator, is our fundraising, communications and marketing coordinator. Previously, she organized the Bike MS event in Tulsa, OK for the National MS Society and continues to focus her talents on providing support to those living with and affected by MS.
Parris Brown, MA Tracie Cole
Medical Assistant to Dr. Amy Rauchway, Parris is the newest addition to the Mercy Clinic Neurology Team. She provides patient support through scheduling appointments, procuring medication referrals and fielding patient phone calls. Medical Assistant for the Center, brings her talent at juggling both patient support through her busy front office duties and coordinates a variety of administrative projects.
Jennifer Allen-Harbin, MR Pat Knoerle-Jordan
Medical Receptionist for Mercy Clinic Neurology, Jennifer supports both The MS Center front desk staff as well as Mercy Clinic Neurology. Her responsibilities include phone triage and the scheduling of patient appointments. Center director, provides overall direction in the area of strategic planning, marketing, fundraising, human resource management, board development, financial management and collaboration with the Center’s partners. Pat joined the Center in this role in 2010 after a nationally recognized 28-year career with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She remains steadfastly committed to quality patient services.
Tami Steinfeld Korie Sweeney

Medical Assistant to Dr. Barbara Green, M.D., has 24 years of service throughout the Mercy Hospital System. She currently provides patient support through scheduling appointments, ordering clinical testing and fielding calls about complex symptoms management.

Administrative Assistant, provides valuable service to patients in procurement of MS drugs, including coaching on pharma patient assistance. She implements revenue cycle management and monitors patient accounts. Additionally, Korie manages special projects and office volunteers. Korie brings over 10 years front and back office medical and customer service experience to the team.
